The Label Printers Celebrates 20 Years of ISO Registration

Written by Elizabeth Bellaver | Jan 19, 2016

We are very pleased to announce that on December 15, 2015, The Label Printers was presented with a plaque for 20 years of ISO certification.

The Label Printers is the largest supplier of UL labels in the world and one of the 100 largest converters in the United States, so we understood the long-term value of ISO registration to our customers and to us. We registered originally to ISO 9002:1994.  We're pleased that we've been able to continue to earn our registration since then.

We were recently presented with a plaque to celebrate this milestone from DQS, Inc. for ISO 9001. “We chose to pursue ISO twenty years ago because of our longstanding relationship with UL, but also because we knew it was something that was going to become a requirement of many of our customers and a marketing tool for many prospective customers”, said Bill Kane, our Chief Executive.  “It was our pleasure to accept the award from DQS on behalf of all of our employees and to celebrate 20 years of ISO registration.”

Diane Nehring [on the right in the picture above], who is retiring this year after 28 years of service to TLP, was our Quality Manager for many years.  She said, “Bill made a good decision to become ISO registered before we were asked to do it.  Every three years the whole system was audited for recertification, and twice every year we went through a surveillance process.  It’s a rigorous program, and good for our company.”

TLP’s current Quality Manager, Gina Ries [on the left in the picture above], echoes Diane's sentiments.  “Our new ISO update is our 3rd version, and we’re proud to have maintained our registration through the updates to the ISO standard over the years.  It’s a good program for the company, and for our customers.”

More information about the value of standards to organizations and our society is available on ISO’s web site.
